Emery James

Well today was the birth of Jeaniene and my first child Emery James Shupe. He was born at 3:49 pm PST and weighed in at 4,325 grams (9 lbs. 8 oz.) and a length of 54 cm (21 in). The delivery was quick, only 4 hours of active labour and another 1.5 pushing. Due to the quick pushing phase Emery has a bit of amniotic fluid in his stomach and will not require feeding for the first 24 hours.

Jeaniene is doing well, although she required a couple of stitches, which are healing as expected.

The feeling I had for him as soon as he was born was unbelievable and unexpected. It was absolutely the most incredible experience of my life.
